In Turkey, the plan to accelerate the entry into force of the law, which will allow property owners to receive citizenship. According to the Minister of Economy, Nihat Zeybekchi planned to prepare a regulatory framework already in 2017. After that, the foreigners who buy property in Turkey, will be able to apply for Turkish citizenship. The government believes that this law will be a great incentive to attract foreign investment in Turkey, and as a result, increase their volume. At the end of 2015 the Turkish Government has decided to grant citizenship to foreign property owners. Active work on the bill is still ongoing. It is expected that this change will contribute to the growth of tourism. A citizenship for investors will still be a good incentive for the purchase of property for a certain amount. It was supposed to give citizenship to those who acquired the property in the amount of 500 000 but is now under active discussion about reducing the price caps.
